The SMSNA Foundation is the official Foundation of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA). The purposes of the SMSNA Foundation are to partner with physicians, researchers, health care professionals, patients and the public to support treatment of sexual dysfunctions in men and women through research, education and position statements.
More specifically, the Foundation's aims:
To advance research in sexual function and health;
To support basic science in sexual dysfunctions;
To support clinical care in sexual health;
To promote best practices in sexual health through medical and surgical guidelines;
To promote outcomes research in sexual health;
To mentor the next generation of scientists, physicians, surgeons and health providers in sexual medicine and reconstructive surgery for sexual function;
To support guidelines for advanced training in sexual medicine and surgery;
To support fellowship training in men’s and women’s sexual health;
To support prosthetic fellowship training in men’s sexual health;
To support reliable sexual health information to patients and consumers through online resource www.sexhealthmatters.org;
To support (access to) education for researchers and clinicians through state-of-the-art scientific and educational activities;
To support and develop disease state specific awareness through white papers and position statement.
