Sexual Medicine Society of North America, Inc.

2020 SMSNA Virtual

Dear Colleagues,

It is my genuine pleasure to extend to you a warm invitation to attend the 20th Annual Fall Scientific Meeting of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA) in Nashville, TN. Established in 1994, our objective has been to promote, encourage, and support the highest standards of practice, research, education, and ethics in the study of sexual function and dysfunction. Our fall meeting has become increasingly recognized as the premiere gathering of sexual medicine experts and health care providers in North America focused on the advancement of scientific knowledge in all aspects of sexual health. The dedicated forum for the presentation of new ideas and various talks by expert lecturers presenting the latest cutting-edge developments in the field attract attendees from the United States and across the globe as far away as Latin America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region.

Our Meeting Committee Chair, Dr. Alexander Pastuszak, and the Meeting Committee, have worked diligently to assemble an outstanding program of master lectures, panels, point–counterpoint debates, and poster sessions providing a wealth of information on diverse topics, encompassing exciting and timely advances in sexual health. The program will be of interest to specialists in all disciplines of sexual medicine whether you are a physician, an allied health / non-physician practitioner, mental health provider, scientific researcher, or other health professional.

The outstanding social program has been assembled with the help of our society staff and incorporates several events that will make your visit to the Nashville area memorable. No longer limited to its reputation as the undisputed home of country music, Nashville has undergone a dramatic transformation in the past 15 years with an influx of many young families, superbly talented chefs, and amazing rock and roll bands. In the words of NY Times’ Callie Khouri, “One of the magical things about Nashville is just how many incredibly talented people are here and the way they support each other. Nashville is the place where I first realized how impossible it is to look at someone and know what is inside them, what special something they possess.”

The SMSNA Foundation Event at the Country Music Hall of Fame on Friday October 25th is certain to be a big hit. Affectionately referred to as the “Smithsonian of country music” because of its unrivaled collection, the museum boasts world class galleries and theatres, the legendary letterpress operation, and the Historic RCA Studio B on famed Music Row, Nashville’s oldest surviving recording studio, where landmark recordings by Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings, and many others were made.

The success of our meeting would not have been possible without the significant time commitment and efforts of our management company, Status Plus, whose team of dedicated members including Tessa Benitez, Bobbi Hahn, Vivian Gies, Melanie Gangl, and David Casalod have contributed endless hours to oversee every detail and make this event a recurring success. We are proud to continue our efforts in promoting a rich tradition of inclusiveness, scholarship, and camaraderie that is well displayed with every year’s scientific meetings. I welcome you to share your knowledge, contribute to our joint mission, and advance the field of sexual medicine. With your help and participation, we will achieve new heights in clinical excellence and service to our patients. I look forward to personally welcoming you. See you in Nashville!
