Fellowship Overview
This 1-year Fellowship provides advanced and comprehensive training in Andrology and Male Sexual Health. The Fellow will gain surgical and clinical experience in the management of male infertility, male sexual dysfunction, testosterone deficiency, chronic orchalgia, BPH, and general men’s health. The Fellowship is based at Men’s Health Clinic Manitoba (www.mhclinic.ca) and the University of Manitoba. Men’s Health Clinic Manitoba is a privately owned and operated Men’s Health surgical facility.
Unique Opportunities
Fellows will have the opportunity to understand the intricacies of establishing a Men’s Health Clinic and gain exposure to cosmetic male urology, including:
- Girth enhancement, ventral phalloplasty, revision circumcision, etc…
Curriculum
Clinical Training:
- Erectile Dysfunction: Full spectrum of medical and surgical management, with over 75 prostheses performed annually.
- Peyronie’s Disease: Non-surgical (intralesional injections, traction) and surgical management with over 75 cases of plication/incision & grafting annually.
- Male Infertility: Comprehensive patient evaluation and treatment, including hormonal manipulation, microsurgical varicocele repairs (>50 annually), VV’s, VE’s, microTESE’s, sperm retrievals (PESA, TESE, MESA), and TURED’s.
- Chronic Orchalgia: Comprehensive medical and surgical management, including microsurgical denervation of the spermatic cord, epididymectomy, and orchiectomy.
- BPH: More than 250 procedures annually, including Greenlight PVP, MIST, and HoLEP.
- Testosterone Deficiency: Evaluation and management.
Research Focus
The Fellow is expected to assist in teaching medical students and residents. Participation in clinical research is expected, with the expectation to present at regional and/or national meetings. Fellows are not required to take call.
