Job Summary

The Department of Urology at Michigan Medicine is seeking a PhD prepared licensed clinical psychologist or clinical social worker with specialty training/interest in cancer survivorship and sexual health for an immediately available faculty position in the Weiser Center for Prostate Cancer, academic rank commensurate with experience.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multidisciplinary consultation and psychotherapy, working with individuals and couples both in person and via telehealth. Interest and expertise in evidence-based interventions for anxiety, depression, and couples therapy as they relate to cancer diagnosis and lived experience are expected. Research experience and interest as they relate to cancer survivorship will be an aspect of the position. The candidate will have a track record of scholarly work relevant to this position.

Responsibilities*

The successful candidate will join the Weiser Center for Prostate Cancer's productive multidisciplinary team of clinicians and grant-funded researchers dedicated to providing patient and partner-centered care to prostate cancer survivors. These will include urologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, advanced practice providers, sex therapists, patient experience navigator, social workers, and physical therapists. If not already trained, the candidate will be expected to complete a sex therapy certification approved by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists. The candidate will be expected to work towards obtaining independent research funding as a part of the position. In return, the candidate will be provided with robust support and faculty mentorship aimed at professional success and advancement.

Required Qualifications*

Candidate qualifications include a PhD in either psychology or social work with completion of an approved internship (APA for psychology, CSWE/GADE for social work). The candidate will be licensed or license eligible in Michigan. The candidate will have a minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience.
