The Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA) Scholars in Sexuality Research Grants Program supports junior investigators conducting research in human sexuality and sexual wellness. The program is intended to attract junior clinicians and researchers to the field of sexual medicine and support the development of their early research careers.
Maximum Award Amounts
- $5,000 for Undergraduate, Medical, and Graduate Students
- $7,500 for Residents and Post-Doctoral/Post-Residency Fellows
Grant Term
July 1 through June 30
- Research projects must be carried out within the United States or Canada to qualify for funding. In addition, both the applicant and the mentor must reside in and be affiliated with an institution in the United States or Canada.
- Research that is currently in process or has already been completed at the time of application is not suitable for submission
- Applications are accepted from graduate or medical students, residents in graduate medical education training programs, and post-doctoral/post-residency fellows
- Applications are welcomed from investigators representing diverse disciplines, including but not limited to urology, psychology, psychiatry, gynecology, internal medicine, geriatrics, public health, physiology, genetics, molecular biology, social work, law, and related fields
- The applicant's mentor must be an SMSNA member
- All funded applicants will receive complimentary SMSNA membership for two years.
