Recently, Dr. Mohit Khera, President of the SMSNA, appointed Dr. Hossein Sadeghi-Nejad to be the first Historian of the SMSNA. Dr. Sadeghi-Nejad shared the following:
“I am thrilled to accept the position as the role perfectly aligns with my passion for history, photography, and the invaluable work of our society. It is a true honor to be given the opportunity to document and preserve the rich narrative of SMSNA. From my days as a resident at BU following the footsteps of Drs. Robert Krane and Irwin Goldstein, and as a person who deeply values history, I understand the importance of capturing the evolution of our field and the significant contributions made by our members. I look at this position not as one solely focused on capturing the past, but also as one that is dedicated to creating a comprehensive archive chronicling the milestones and achievements of SMSNA and celebrating the diverse and dynamic journey of sexual medicine. As an amateur photographer, my love for photography will be instrumental in this role, allowing me to visually document events, key moments, and influential figures within SMSNA who have shaped who we are today. By combining written records with photographic evidence, we can create a vivid and engaging historical archive that will serve as a testament to our collective efforts and progress. Again, I am truly honored.”
